How do I find the music and loops that I want? Back to Top

The whole process of finding the right music is very simple. All you need to do is go back to the home page and choose from the "Categories by Genre" menu. This can be found in the column to the left of the page. Click on a category such as "Acoustic" and you will be presented with a list of tracks contained within that category.

Each piece of music on offer displays the following details:

  • Title (Which also links to the full track and loop download page)
  • Duration
  • Number of Loops
  • MP3 Preview link (and file size)
  • Description

You can click on the track title to proceed to the download page for that track and all of its loops. You can also quickly preview a low quality MP3 of the tracks listed by clicking on the "MP3 PREVIEW" button. You will find that many tracks are listed in multiple categories, this is because a lot our music crosses over genres and may be relevant for several different categories.

How do I download the music files I like? Back to Top

The best way to download the files is to right click (on a Mac use the apple key + mouse click) directly on the blue hyperlink and choose the option "save target as", you will then be prompted to open or save the file (depending on your browser and OS). Choose a location on your hard drive and save the file there (remember where you have saved it so that you can locate it later).

Some browsers will ask you if you would like to open the file after the download is complete, this is entirely up to you.

We recommend that you update your browser to the latest version of Internet Explorer for the best user experience. If you are against using Microsoft products you can download the excellent Mozilla browser which is also free and highly recomended. Here are the download links.

How do I listen to the MP3 Preview files? Back to Top

Our preview files are standard low quality MP3 files and should be playable in almost any decent media player. The latest version of Windows Media Player does a great job of playing MP3 files but there are many other free media players that do just as good a job. Winamp is an excellent free media player that handles MP3's easily. Our high quality downloads are also MP3 files but at a much higher quality and resolution to the preview files and consequently take longer to download.

We recommend Winamp for both Mac and PC users.

How to locate the monthly updates: Back to Top

If you haven't been back to the members area for a few months its easy to locate the music that we've added each month while you've been away. Simply click on the home button to go back to the homepage and you will see the "UPDATES" button in the column to the left of the page underneath the categories. Click on this button to be taken to the monthly updates archive.

The archives go right back to 2001 and you can view the updates by clicking on the year or the month links. Just like the main category listings you'll find a list of the tracks and loops that were added each month, you can listen to previews or go right to the full quality download page for that track.

Most of the time we add 3 tracks plus its loop edits each month but occasionally we will add more.

Adding Music To Your Soundbox: Back to Top

If you decide that you like a particular track or selection of loops but don't want to download it immediately you can simply add it to your soundbox and carry on browsing and previewing other categories. Click on the "add to soundbox" button to save that page in your soundbox, you can access your soundbox later to download the high quality versions of the tracks and loops.

Accessing Your Soundbox: Back to Top

To view the music that you added to your soundbox all you need to do is click on the orange "Soundbox" button in the left hand column. This will generate a list of all the tracks/loops that you liked and display a link back to the full download page. You can also listen to the preview again to see which ones you like best out of the once you've saved, this is great for short listing and comparing tracks for a particular project.

I have a problem with the Quicktime Player: Back to Top

In our experience the most problematic media player for MP3 files is Quicktime. In most cases Quicktime has odd ways of streaming audio files to your computer and can make a misery out of a simple task such as playing our low quality preview MP3s.

We recommend Winamp for both Mac and PC users.

My Soundbox is full: Back to Top

Because your soundbox uses cookies you might find that your browser automatically limits the size of the cookie file it creates when you add tracks/loops to your sounbox. This means that you will eventually reach your cookie size limit and be unable to add any more tracks/loops to your sounbox. Depending on your OS and browser you might be able to configure your browser to allow you to create much larger cookies.

If you are unable to increase the size limit of your cookies you can clear out your entire soundbox by going into your browsers internet options and deleting all cookies. This will completely empty your soundbox because you will have deleted the cookie file where the information was stored.

I don't have time to download these files - can I upgrade my membership? Back to Top

Yes ofcourse. You may decide that downloading all these audio files is too time consuming. In that case you can easily upgrade your membership so that you get the entire library on CD or DVD. This means you'll only ever need to log in to the members area each month to download the new tracks we add.

Click here to upgrade your membership.

How do I convert these high quality MP3 files into WAV's? Back to Top

There are many software applications that are widely available either as freeware or trial versions of commercial software. Here are some links to sites where you can obtain software to convert our MP3 files into WAV's and other audio formats.

How can I change my username and password? Back to Top

Unfortunately you cant. If you find that you are always forgetting your password the best thing to do is set your browser to remember passwords, then it will always be stored every time you type in your username. To do this follow these directions: In Internet Explorer 6 go to - Tools> Internet Options> Content> and click on the "Auto Complete" button under "Personal Information". Then in the "Use AutoComplete for" settings you need to put a tick on the following options:

  • User names and passwords on forms
  • Prompt me to save passwords

The next time you enter your password for this site your browser will ask if you'd like to save the password. The next time you login and type your username in the login form your browser will offer to complete the password for you.
